The pressure of being students

It is said that students can experience a lot of things during their school days. Students may be granted more special privileges than working people. It is because they can do what they really want to do. They can spend more time and work for it. However, it is true that students have some difficulties.
First, they have financial problem. Students do not have enough money. They have less money than working people. Some students may not have financial problems, but most students have. Actually, it cost a lot of money in school life. For example, they need to pay tuition and fees. It is very expensive for students, so some students get money from their parents to pay for them. Students spend their money not only for their studying but also for their hobby and pleasure. For example, the student who belongs to tennis club need to buy tennis racket and shoes. Of course, these tools are not cheap. Under this circumstance, many students have to do part-time job to solve their financial problems.
However, student’s financial problem causes another problem. Students will probably face difficulties of time management because of their having a part-time job. In fact, some students work too hard their part-time job instead of going to their classes. It is true that having a part-time job is the most effective way to solve financial problem. However, they should not spend too much time and effort. Studying is the student’s duty. In order to concentrate studying they need to manage their own time. They should not waste their time in vain. Time management is another problem which makes students pressure.
In addition to these problems, studying also makes students pressure. Their grade affects themselves. Good score will make students happy and give the opportunity they can get scholarship. On the other hand, bad score make them disappointed, and unfortunately some student cannot graduate. These things show that academic results influence student’s life directly. If their grade has been bad, students need to quit their jobs or hobby, and it becomes more difficult to solve financial problems. Studying is related with student’s life.
In summary, students feel pressure by financial problem, time management and their studying. Solving these problems is not easy. It is because these problems connect each other. They cannot deal with them at once. It requires a lot of time and effort. However, as I said before, students can absolutely change their situation if they really want. So, it is depends on students how their school life would be.

The Pressures of Being a University Student

Some people would enjoy their college lives, but the others would not enjoy ones. Lives in a university differ from lives in a high school considerably. All students have the pressures of being a student in varying degrees. There seems to be some major pressures; academic, financial and emotional pressures.

First, all students would feel academic pressures. At first, Japanese students are surprised at classes in only English. Most students have not talked with teachers and friends in English, so they get confused. In addition to this, teachers give students many reports. Sometimes they must write the reports in English. It is a challenge for Japanese students. Moreover, they practice presentations. They are poor at speaking in front of others because Japanese are too shy and have no chance to do a presentation at high school.

Second, there is a financial pressure. First-year students in Fukuoka Women’s University live in a dormitory. They need to pay the cost of living; therefore, they do a part-time job at night. Although they are students, they have to work. There is no doubt that they must study hard. So they cannot get enough sleep.

Third, they have emotional pressures. As mentioned before, they live in a dormitory. They live with friends all day long. They encounter various problems; for example, one person cannot sleep well because her roommate talks with friends loudly, one person does not do housework such as taking out the garbage, cleaning a bathtub and dishes. Furthermore, some students would become homesick. They are anxious about their lives in a dormitory.

In summary, all students have academic, financial and emotional pressures. However, you can learn a lot of things in a university; for example; communication skills in English, foreign cultures and various languages. So you have to overcome the pressures of being a student. If you find ways to overcome the pressures, your college lives would be better.

Pressures of Being a Student

I am a university student. Since I started the university, my life has changed compared with what I was; I cannot depend on my parents. College students are busy in studying, cooking, cleaning, and enjoying their hobbies and club activities. There are many pressures of being a student on academic, financial, and emotional points.

First, in the university, students take various classes like English, biology, and chemistry. Thus, there are lots of homework and term papers. They cost students so much time. Especially, in this university, English class consists of four parts; reading, writing, listening and communication class. We have to study English every day. However, because I am not so good at English, I cannot finish my homework in a short time. I want to improve English skills, but it is difficult for me, so sometimes I get stressed.

In addition, In Japan, many university students belong to clubs. Club activities have various events. In my case, because I was requested to be an organizer, I must take part in all events such as drinking party and a welcome meeting for new freshmen. Thus they require vast expenditure. Besides, I have to arrange meals by myself from shopping to washing the dishes. So, food expenses are also needed. Moreover, I have to buy the necessities of life like shampoo and any other cleaning substances. To cover a part of these expenditure, I work part-time job about four times a week. It is quite tiring for me and I want more free time!

Finally, students in the university live in the dormitory. Sometimes problems happen such as homesickness and worriment while we are sick. About a month ago, I got a cold. I suffered from fever, sore throat and snivel. Parents looked after me before, but now I have to do some things like seeing a doctor, and taking a medicine by myself. Fortunately, my roommate helped me so much and I got well.

Indeed, being a university student, we are freer than before and have good days, but freedom carries responsibility. These responsibilities in academic, financial, and emotional points make me feel pressured. I have to be positive under the pressures.
